ZF Group has begun operations at its new state-of-the-art plant in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).

This facility is ZF's third major project launched in Wuhan in the past two years, following the establishment of the largest airbag production base and the largest airbag R&D center in the Asia-Pacific region.

The new plant is recognized as a "benchmark factory", meeting national green factory standards through its sustainable design. It features smart meters for comprehensive energy consumption monitoring, skylights that maximize natural light in workspaces, and AGV robots that efficiently navigate between workstations.

The facility also includes an ISO 8 cleanroom dedicated to producing electronic brake calipers (EMB), equipped with reinforced foundations and a centralized cooling system to meet current production demands and allow for future technological advancements.

The new plant will produce electronic parking brakes (EPB) and plans to introduce a next-generation EMB production line, addressing the growing needs of the new energy vehicle market.

Peter Holdmann, a board member of ZF Group, said," We are increasing our R&D investments in intelligent chassis technology, with integrated software and hardware solutions becoming key drivers for the 'performance leap' of next-generation vehicles in the Chinese market."

Wang Runyi, executive vice-president of ZF Group, emphasized, "WEDZ offers a robust industrial and supply chain that fuels the high-quality development of local enterprises. ZF will continue to deepen strategic collaborations, introducing cutting-edge processes and innovative technologies to enhance the global reach of intelligent braking technology 'Made in WEDZ'."
